ANNUAL BLOG REPORT IX

I have now been blogging for nine years. Please send me suggestions on how I should celebrate my 10th blogiversary in 2012!

As I wrote in my post, ANNUAL BLOG REPORT VIII, the main focus for the future will be my EGO podcast on BlogTalkRadio. The next EGO interview will be with Lisa Bruckner, men's style expert and CEO of Hendricks Park. If you want to support my podcasting work, please "like" my EGO podcast Facebook page. I am still striving for the "big break"... With that said, I have some new interesting things that I am working on, e.g., helping two fashion bloggers 2.0 setting up a site powered by Squarespace, and creating a social media p.o.s.t plan for an online marketing company with an affiliate and advertising network. I have started to write "social media 101" blog posts for a social media agency.

HENDRICKS PARK - PERSONAL STYLE EXPERTS

Today I had a great phone conversation via Skype with Lisa Bruckner, CEO of Hendricks Park. As a chile-head, Lisa's post, How to correctly pronounce 'wasabi', piqued my interest:

This lovely game has continued into my adult life; most surprisingly with the name of my blog Wasabi Nights. When I first named the blog and mentioned it to people, they didn't understand what I meant. I would raise my eyebrows in surprise and say "Wasabi. It's the green paste you eat with sushi." The response was always the same: "oh, you mean wasabi!"

Confused? I was, until I realized my correct pronunciation was incorrect for American vernacular. Wasabi is correctly pronounced "wa-sa-bee." It's pronounced in an elegantly, quick manner. Wa! Sa! Bi! Americans however pronounce it "wu-saaaw-bee" and heavy on the "wasssup" part. (WasabiNights.com, May 7, 2009.)

I will definitively use a personal style expert in the future. I am in favor of this kind of service. I have had a hard time going to shops in Sweden due to the overall poor customer service, with a few exceptions, e.g., Acqua Limone and The Fair Tailor. I am missing Eddie Bauer from USA and I look forward to test Lands' End's mail order service in Europe.

I decided to change from the Revolution Lifestyle template to Awesome Inc. template by Tina Chen at Google.

I added the Wall Street image by DNY59 (iStockphoto) to the template. After I had updated the blog with the new template, I used the Soundtracking iPhone application and shared a music moment with a "track" from the soundtracks for the movie, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

I am thinking of adding the Wibiya toolbar and Feedjit traffic feed widget later on.

You could now read EGO blog on your smartphone.
