The United States will not be the first country in which Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will travel in his first foreign visit as Iran's newly elected president. In 2001, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, visited Castro in Cuba. The aging communist dictator told Khamenei to help defeat the U.S. "as you toppled the Shah" in 1979. Castro also said together Cuba and Iran would bring America "to its knees." (, 08/31/05.)
