AMERICAN IN SPIRIT

Kudos to Fredrik Norman for starting the ad-hoc organization, Norwegian Friends of America ("Venner av Amerika" in Norwegian). [Via InstaPundit and Mark Wickens.] Read the article, Students rally support for USA.

I think it could be tough to start a campaign in favor of America in Sweden at the moment. America shouldn't count on military supplies from Sweden in the near future. Add this incident to the collection of THE DARK SIDE OF SWEDEN. As a neutral country, Sweden has had a hard time to pick the right side on several occasions, trying to evade the whole situation by standing in the middle-of-the-road, waiting to get hit by a "speeding truck"... No wonder why Chomsky managed to do a tour in Sweden in 2002 and that 100,000 Swedes marched along on February 15. Nevertheless, it is never too late to change the opinion in Sweden, as long as you could find an article like this one: USA frtjnar vrt fulla std ("USA deserves our full support" in Swedish). Henrik Anderson: Great article!

For more information on America, go to Amerikabrev.nu ("Letters from America" in Swedish).

My long-range goal is to return to America - the Land of Opportunity. In order to plan for my future, I have joined the Canadian American Friendship Society.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! LET'S ROLL, ALREADY!

I got in a very grumpy mood after reading a story about a so called "human shield", who is going to Iraq. The organization, "Friendship, peace and solidarity", will welcome the "human shields" with open arms. The same newspaper had an article on students who skipped school in protest of the war. If you want to have a history lesson on the peace movement, read Amir Taheri's article, Anti-war or anti-U.S.? [Via Fredrik Norman.]

Why are people so concerned about how the interrogation of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is conducted? Why be soft on the "mastermind" of the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I recommend you to read the following editorials:
Innocents in War. By Onkar Ghate.
In Defense of the Cowboy. By Andrew Bernstein.

WAR POLL

After I had read Christopher Dickey's article, Rumors of War, I thought it was in order to have a poll on when you think that the war against Iraq will begin. Read Chip Joyce's prediction, Tripling the Ante. Whenever it will be, it is not a day too early, or what do you think?

In the news: Bush war date will give someone gas.

JINN OF QUALITY AND RISK

I have added Magnus Kempe to the Blog category. Read his post, France, Germany, and Russia: opposed to resolution 1441, and anti-semite. [Via Little Green Footballs.]

MARCH 15: PEOPLE EATING TASTY ANIMALS

Mark your calendars! Join Meryl Yourish's campaign, International Eat an Animal for PETA Day, on March 15. How about Buffalo wings, club sandwich, hamburger, or ribs, at O'Learys? Yummy! I am getting hungry for a real pastrami sandwich. I haven't been able to find it in Gothenburg yet.

RECYCLING: GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT!

Recycling is an anti-industrial idea. The idea has been implemented by the manufacturing industry in Germany. The environmentalists labeled the idea as "Der Grne Punkt" (The Green Dot). I am glad to hear that some of the old leaders of the green movement in Sweden have changed their mind regarding recycling. [Via InstaPundit.]

I don't think that the bureaucrats at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency are happy campers at the movement...
