NEW POSTS...

I will probably deal with the following issues in my next "batch" of posts:

* The commercial aspect of Super Bowl.
* Gridlock situation in Israel after the election?
* Anti-Americanism in Europe. [Via Det perfekta tomrummet.]
* More on Moore and other idiotarians.
* Blog business. [Via InstaPundit.]

In the meantime, please check out my new posts, THE GOOD LIFE and HOBBIES, on my other weblog. I write about coffee, chocolate, restaurants, music, literature, work-out, and chess!

Stay tuned!

ACRYLAMIDE

The Swedish National Food Administration scared lots of people in April 2002, by saying that they had found high levels of acrylamide in foods like potato chips and fries and that it could cause cancer. These test were made on rats. New research on humans shows a different result...

What's your favorite? Please, don't say: "Abu Ammar - Yasser Arafat potato chips."

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

I think that the debate on abortion will definitively go in the right direction if people read Leonard Peikoff's editorial, Abortion Rights are Pro-life. Roe v. Wade Anniversary Still Finds Defense of the Right to Abortion Compromised. [Via Mark Wickens.]

MICHAEL MOORE: "STUPID WHITE MAN" II

I have seen the second episode of Michael Moore's TV series, The Awful Truth. One of the segment was a about the death penalty. Moore must be a fan of MTV's "Celebrity Deathmatch." I wonder if I will have stomach to watch the third episode tomorrow...
I recently saw Moore's Roger and Me on TV. I will write a post in defense of the auto industry later on.
Moore's book, Stupid White Men (Korkade vita mn), will soon hit the bookstores. His movie, Bowling for Columbine, is included in the line-up at the Gothenburg Film Festival.

WHAT'S THE A.N.S.W.E.R. TO THE ESCALATED CONFLICT?

I am supporting a war with Iraq, even if America is not backed by "diplomats" in the United Nations. Only 5% of the Swedes have this opinion. Guess how many are against the war? 50 per cent! The leaders of the communist parties in the Nordic countries, have written a letter against the war. Maybe they are in contact with A.N.S.W.E.R. or Noam Chomsky? [Via Andrew Sullivan.] At least one Swede is not fooled by biased media. Per Ahlmark has written an article in the Wall Street Journal, attacking Mr. Blix and his "investigations" in Iraq. If you find the article, please let me know. Maybe Bush should learn a lesson from Margaret Thatcher's Falklands War?

RIOTS IN GOTHENBURG

Do you remember the riots in Gothenburg during the summer of 2001? Guess what happened? From EUObserver, 01/15/03:

"An 800 page report by a group led by former Swedish Prime Minister Ingmar Carlsson heavily criticizes the way the country's police force dealt with demonstrations during the EU summit in Gothenburg in 2001."

Why don't they criticize the hooligans, anarchists, anti-globalists and other protesters, who started the riots?

BOYCOTT

Karl Gustav Hammar, archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Sweden and Carl Tham, Sweden's ambassador to Berlin, have written an article in Sweden's biggest newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, Sluta att kpa israeliska varor, calling for a boycott of Israeli goods. [Via Little Green Footballs.] This is a typical action by the socialist "elite" in Sweden. They are probably "munching" on "Abu Ammar - Yasser Arafat potato chips" and drinking Mecca Cola at this moment...

The situation is the same in Norway. Read Fredrik Norman's post, Norwegian Unions Boycott Israel.

THE ANTI-WAR MARCH DESTROYED THE PEACE...

I was going to Gothenburg city to meet a friend and do some shopping. Suddenly we heard a loud noise. It was the anti-war movement (read: useless idiots) marching down the Avenue. My friend and I had to sneak into a caf in order to get some peace. I had to calm myself down with a cappuccino and a cigarillo. What would happen if somebody had seen my American flag pin on my backpack? According to the newspaper, it was around 4,500 people demonstrating against America. I saw lots of red flags and "Palestinian" flags. I also saw an American flag - turned upside down...

"Rambo": You have a new mission... [Via Drudge Report.]

UPDATE 01/19/03: Check out Sheeps Clothing by John Cox and Allen Forkum.

In the last paragraph of the above mentioned newspaper article, David Loy, says that he is "ashamed to be a US citizen." I would switch nationality with Mr. Loy in a heartbeat, if it would be possible..

ANTI-SUV CAMPAIGN

Arianna Huffington is trying to link the usage of SUVs with terrorism in a TV ad campaign. The problem is not SUVs or automobiles in general. The solution to the problem is to take back our oil and drill for oil in Alaska. ANTONIN SCALIA

Antonin Scalia is clueless regarding the reason why religion and state should be separated. Do you want to have an example how religion could control the government? Look how the clerics in Iran are forcing their religious beliefs on other people.

MICHAEL MOORE: "STUPID WHITE MAN"

Here is a reason why I will not go to the Gothenburg Film Festival. They will show Michael Moore's movie, Bowling for Columbine. Moore: the next Idiotarian?

UPDATE 01/10/03: Hmmm, Moore is now all over the place... Here is a long article in Svenska Dagbladet. A new TV series starts today, called Moore's USA. Is this a kind of Chomsky syndrome?

UPDATE 01/11/03: I saw the first episode on Friday. The Awful Truth is the original title of Moore's show. It was an awful show. What will people in Sweden think about America after watching this stupid show? I got "flashback" memories of the MTV's Choose or Lose campaign in 2000, when I watched the "moshpit" segment...

The Swedish government has ordered Naturvrdsverket (the "Swedish Environmental Protection Agency") to start a campaign against "global warming." This propaganda campaign will run for two years.
